The Portuguese city of Macedo de Cavaleiros is ready to host the 2015 WEVZA U21 and U19 Beach Volleyball championships this weekend. After the successful first edition of this event, the best underage Beach Volleyball teams of the WEVZA countries travel to the idyllic Portuguese coast to clash for the title of the memorable tournaments.

The beach of Albufeira do Azibo is the stage where an action-packed weekend will take place and where the new owners of the WEVZA U21 and U19 titles will be decided. Duos coming from all the nations that form the Zonal Volleyball Association of the Western European countries will show their skills over the Portuguese sand in their quest for the coveted crowns.

The 2014 edition of the Under 21 championship was also held in Macedo de Cavaleiros, in a sensational tournament that confirmed the outstanding level of the Beach Volleyball stars in the making in the WEVZA countries. Dutch duo Bouter-van der Ham won the men’s championship after beating local team Maia-Silva in the final 0:2 (22–24, 13:21). Spanish youngsters Huerta-Rojas completed the final podium. The women competition was topped by Spanish duo Etxebarria-Izagirre, after their victory over Portuguese heroines Paquete-Silva in a disputed final clash 1:2 (15-21, 22-20, 15-7). Dutch side Zwaanswijk-Bak won Bronze medal.

Meanwhile, Dutch city of The Hague held the 2014 WEVZA U19 Beach Volleyball championships. Spanish duos dominated the tournament as Spaniards closed the event with four of the six possible medals. The men’s championship was ruled by Spain as the two representatives from the Iberian country met in the final, with the victory ultimately going to Jiménez-Huerta over Huerta-Rojas (1:2, 15-21, 23-21, 13-15). The Bronze medal was for Dutch duo van Steenis / Bontrop. The title in women’s stayed in The Netherlands as local team Daalderop / Kos beat Spaniards Pascual-Ruiz in another disputed final 2:1 (21-19, 18-21, 15-8). Young Spanish duo Querol-Salo completed the podium.
