About Wevza

The association

WEVZA is heir to the tradition of western European countries cooperating to foster volleyball on the area, mainly through the long-standing and traditional Six Nations Tournament which was later renamed the Eight Nations Tournament.

Those countries finally agreed to create a CEV Zonal Association on 26 September 2013, with the approval of the WEVZA first Statutes.

Founding and current members of the Western European Zonal Volleyball Association (WEVZA) are the Volleyball National Federations of: BELGIUM, FRANCE, GERMANY, ITALY, PORTUGAL, SPAIN, SWITZERLAND and THE NETHERLANDS.

Mission

The main Aims and Tasks of WEVZA are:

  • Promoting the expansion, popularity and level of all types of volleyball in the geographical area.
  • To organise the assigned CEV competitions focused especially on age groups.
  • To offer new competition and development opportunities to the volleyball and beach volleyball community in the area.
  • To promote the friendly-close relations between the member national federations, their officials, coaches, referees and players.
  • Support the CEV and FIVB in achieving their continental and global goals.
