The countdown to the 2014 WEVZA tournament to be held in Valladolid has already started. The Spanish city will host next week the first edition of the tournament which brings together the youth teams of the  members of the Zonal Association of Western Europe in an event that will demonstrate the high level volleyball on these nations.

The Zonal Volleyball Association of Western Europe inaugurates Volleyball competitions next week. In men, the venue of the first tournament will Valladolid. The Pisuerga Sports will held this event which starts on Tuesday and finishes on Saturday.

The first edition of this tournament will bring together teams from France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Holland, Spain and Portugal, and Sweden, replacing Switzerland, in the competition that replaces the traditional 8 Nations Tournament.

The eight participants were grouped into two pools of four participants each. The winners are crossed in the semifinals while the third and fourth of each group will fight for positions 5th to 8th. The final will be played on 26 July at 18.30.

The Zonal Volleyball Association Western Europe (WEVZA in its acronym in English) is formed by the National Federation of Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Holland, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland, and is integrated as an institution within the FIVB and CEV.
