Beach Volleyball fans in Portuguese city of Macedo de Cavaleiros are witnessing the thrill and demonstration of best sport effort showed by the participants in the 2014 WEVZA Under 21 Beach Volleyball Championship. After the first day of competition, the favorites stepped forward in the quest to glory.
The matches celebrated on Saturday were characterized by the outstanding level of performance by the young stars in the making. In the Men’s tournament, the teams Maia-Silva, from Portugal, Spain’s Huerta-Rojas and Bouter-van der Ham from The Netherlands confirmed their intention to fight for Gold after their disputed clashes.
Meanwhile, the Women’s competition was determined by the flawless performance by Portuguese representatives Paquete-Silva and Reis-Tinoco, who together with Spain’s Etxebarria-Izagirre stated their candidacy to reach the highest position in the podium.
The semifinals will be played on Sunday. The matches Huerta-Rojas (ESP) vs Maia-Silva (POR) and Leite-Jardim (POR) vs Bouter-van der Ham (NED) in Men’s competition, and Etxebarria-Izagirre (ESP) vs Zwaanswijk-Bak (NED) and Paquete-Silva (POR) vs Reis-Tinoco (POR) in Women’s tournament will decide the final podium of the exciting event.
