The senior women’s team of Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76, from Italy, beat (3-0: 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17) the French team of RC Cannes in the final of the WEVZA Cup – Women, held in Chieri, in the Italian province of Turin, with the mission of qualifying a team of for the CEV Challenge Cup 2023, which will begin next month.

With the participation of the Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 in the Challenge Cup 2023, which won all the matches of the WEVZA Cup 2022 by the maximum margin, there will be six Italian women’s teams (Chieri, Conegliano, Monza, Novara, Scandicci and Busto Arsizio) that will compete in European competitions this season.

Chieri’s team, which has not played in European competitions since 2006, will face Bosniak’s OK GACKO in the round of 32 of the CEV Challenge Cup.

Leonel Salgueiro, National Technical Director of the Portuguese Volleyball Federation and technical manager of WEVZA, was the Supervisor of WEVZA Cup Women.
