In the match for place 5/6 in Arnhem, Portugal won their first match at the Wevza U17 Women tournement. They surprised Spain with a great service and a passion in their game.
The first set was a big fight, both teams eager to make a good start. In the end Portugal made the difference: 25-27. The second set was clearly for Spain, with a strong side-out they were much stronger: 25-18.
Portugal came back strong and made the difference in the last two sets with a strong serve. Rita Monteiro made a lot of points with a sharp floatserve. Portugal won the game with 21-25 and 19-25 and became fifth at the Wevza U17 Women. Spain ended at place six.
