LAIGUEGLIA, ITALY
FRANCE AND ITALY RULE AT WEVZA INTERNATIONAL EVENT PRESENTED BY RIVIERA BEACH VOLLEY
Barthelemy/Cattet from France in the Men Draw and Foresti/Franzoni from Italy in the Women Draw are the winners and International Wevza Beach Volleyball event presented by Riveira Beach Volley held last 7-8-9 October in Laigueglia, the iconic venue in Liguria region.
Both winning teams started competition from qualification tournaments. Olivier Barthelemy and Samuel Cattet won final match 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) against number 1 seeded italian team composed by Marco Viscovich with olympian Alex Ranghieri.
In the women competition Martina Foresti and Sara Franzoni, at their international debut, won final match 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) against italian team Erika Ditta and Eleonora Sestini.
The event has been organized by POWERBEACH and RIVIERA BEACH VOLLEY with the patronage of the Comune di Laigueglia and of the Regione Liguria. It was the first time in the history for Regione Liguria to stage an international beach volleyball event.
