The first edition of the Beach Volleyball tournament “I Internacionales Ciudad de Barcelona 12É Trofeu International Ciudat de Barcelona” was presented in Spanish city on Monday, in an event that stated the relevance of this competition to be held from May, 28th to May, 31st which will initiate the 2015 WEVZA Beach Volleyball Zonal Tour.
The presentation took place on Antiga Fábrica Estrella Damm in Barcelona and was attended by the president of the Catalan Federation of Volleyball and vice-president of the Spanish Volleyball Federation, Maribel Zamora; the Secretary General of Sport of the region of Catalonia, Ivan Tibau; the director of Madison Sport Marketing, Luis Garcia and the local players Jordi Rica, Gerard Aguilá and Ester Ribera.
The president of the Catalan Federation of Volleyball and vice-president of the Spanish Volleyball Federation, Maribel Zamora stated that this tournament is the result « of hard work by our Federation. Our effort is what has made possible that this tournament is being celebrated this weekend « . Moreover, Zamora encouraged fans of the sport to participate in the spectacular event that will be held at the venue of Moll de la Marina. « We are in an enviable setting, Moll de la Marina, which will be full of Beach Volleyball. Also, the entrance to the event is going to be free every day,  »  Ms. Zamora said.
Meanwhile, the director of the promoting company, Madison Sport Marketing, Luis Garcia began the presentation by recalling that the Madison Beach Volley Tour that embraces this competition « always comes to Catalonia. This year we have the two tournaments in this region. The WEVZA tournament in Barcelona, and the second edition of the International tournament of Tarragona, belonging to the National Circuit. We have worked very hard for three years to bring a competition to Barcelona; we did it and we want to thank the Catalan Volleyball Federation for its support,  » Mr Garcia said.
Furthermore, the Secretary General of Sport of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Ivan Tibau closed the event noting that this event « is a great showcase for Barcelona and it has a great tourist impact. It fulfills our aim of placing the Catalan sport in the international arena,  » Mr. Tibau stressed.
The best teams from Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain will gather in this tournament that will open the season of 2015 WEVZA Zonal Tour. The competition will begin on Thursday and end on Sunday with the celebration of the finals.
