The Executive Committee meeting of WEVZA, chaired by Vicente Araújo, was held by videoconference on December 10 and looked at the calendar of activities to be held next year.
Strongly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the planned activities will change in terms of timing.
Given that the European Volleyball Confederation has postponed the Under-17 Men’s and Under-16 Women’s competitions, which involve the European associations, to March 2021, the WEVZA Executive Committee appointed 15 January 2021 as the key date for the final decision by the organizers.
Thus, the following events are planned:
Volleyball
Under-16 Women – Date and place to be determined, Netherlands – Deadline – 15 January 2021
Under-17 Men – Date and place to be determined, Germany – Deadline – 15 January 2021
Under-18 Women – Date and place to be determined, Belgium – Deadline – 12 February 2021
Under-19 Men – Date and place to be determined, France – Deadline – 12 February 2021
Beach Volleyball
Under-21 Men and Women – Date and place to be determined, Germany
Under-21 Men and Women – Date and Place to be determined, Italy
In analysis: Senior Zone Tournaments – Participation of 12 teams from at least 3 WEVZA countries
It was also decided to organize:
– A Webinar for Volleyball coaches belonging to the different WEVZA Federations, to be organized by Belgium.
– A Webinar for Beach Volleyball coaches belonging to the different WEVZA Federations, to be organized by the Netherlands.
The next meeting of the WEVZA Executive Committee will take place at the end of January 2021.
