Italy qualified directly for the CEV U-17 Women’s European Championship by beating Spain, in the final of the WEVZA Tournament – 1st Qualifying Round, by the maximum margin: 3-0 (25-19, 25-12 and 25-10).
The Italians Ludovica Tosini, Sofia Moroni and Caterina Peroni were the best scorers of the game, with 16, 15 and 11 points respectively.
The national teams of Spain, Belgium, France, Germany and The Netherlands, respectively 2nd, 3rd, 4th 5th, 5th and 6th ranked in the WEVZA Tournament played at the Ballspielhalle in the German city of Kienbaum, will play in April the 2nd Round, aiming to get a place in the Final Phase of the referred Championship.
Italy defeated Spain 3-0 (25-19, 25-12 and 25-10) in the match defining 1st and 2nd places, while Belgium beat (3-1: 25-17, 25-17, 17-25 and 25-20) France in the match for the 3rd and 4th ranking. Germany beat (3-1: 20-25, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-20) the Netherlands for 5th place and Portugal won (3-0: 25-10, 25-11 and 25-17) the game for the attribution of the 7th and 8th places.
